The Aškerc Homestead in Senožete

In the village of Senožete near Rimske Toplice, you will find the house where Slovenia’s greatest ballad and romance poet Anton Aškerc spent his youth. This more than 500 years old house preserves its characteristic architecture – a “black kitchen” and features an extensive literary and ethnological exhibition about the poet.

The Aškerc farm is worked using sustainable methods. Visitors have the opportunity to taste cheese, spreads and other homemade delicacies.

Open subject to advance booking.
