The 2025 tourist season in the Laško destination was marked by stable demand, a strong focus on sustainability, and a rich array of events and development projects. In 2025, the destination continued to emphasize health, wellness, and active experiences, reaffirming its status as one of Slovenia’s leading green destinations.
In 2025, the destination recorded 80,522 arrivals, representing a 0.7% increase compared to the previous year. Among visitors, 42% were domestic and 58% international. The total number of overnight stays reached 275,338, a 0.5% decrease, with an average length of stay of 3.4 days. The highest number of overnight stays occurred in August, followed by July and October.
Among international markets, the largest shares of overnight stays came from Italy (20%), Croatia (17%), Austria (17%), Germany (9%), and Serbia (5%).
Strong Presence Online and on Social Media
Laško continued to successfully engage visitors through digital channels in 2025. Instagram recorded a 12% growth, while Facebook grew by 1%. The website lasko.info received 178,190 page views from 41,034 users, 77% of whom were domestic and 33% international. The most visited content included the homepage, events, and experiences, with Slovenia, Italy, and Austria being the top visiting countries.
The e-newsletter also grew significantly, reaching 32,421 contacts by the end of the year.
Events, Experiences, and Active Offerings
The year 2025 featured a diverse lineup of major destination events, including the Laško Carnival Parade, the 60th Laško Beer and Flowers Festival, AquaRoma (Rimske so fejst), August Under the Stars, the 27th St. Martin’s Day in Laško, and Holiday Laško 2025. The 3rd large-scale cleanup campaign Zloščimo zlato Laško also played an important unifying role, reaffirming the strong environmental awareness of the local community.
Visitors had numerous opportunities for active leisure, with 18 hiking trails and 10 cycling routes available. As part of the Po laških poteh initiative, nine guided hikes were organized, attended by 1,900 hikers, and two new “Golden Hiker” awards were granted. The Okusiti Laško network, connecting local gastronomic, craft, and producer offerings, remains an essential part of the destination’s tourism story.
STIK Laško and Key Achievements in 2025
The development and promotion of the destination are coordinated by STIK Laško – Center for Sport, Tourism, Information, and Culture Laško, which brings together six organizational units and manages 11 facilities. In 2025, TIC Laško and TIC Rimske Toplice saw increased visitor numbers, while positive trends were also recorded at the Laško Cultural Center, Tri Lilije Hall, and Laška hiša.
Among the key achievements of 2025 were the reaffirmation of the highest Slovenia Green Destination Platinum certification, the nationwide tour of Dr. Avguštin Stegenšek’s exhibition, the 6th Local Food Fair, the development of the regional digital tool Laško in Dežela Celjska, continuation of the Marof Pond revitalization project, the cross-border project LaškoVec Fest, and the launch of a new tourist product Digital Detox in the Spa Park.
The 2025 tourist season confirmed that Laško remains a destination building its future on sustainability, collaboration, and high-quality experiences for both visitors and the local community.
