Travel green

Take a walk through the green valleys of Laško and visit the Gračnica Valley, which boasts a diverse variety of flora and fauna and is part of Natura 2000.
Explore Laško by foot or by bike. Use the KolesCE bike sharing system and ride to the neighbouring towns of Rimske Toplice, Celje, Žalec or even further.
Laško is a perfect place to explore by foot as it offers 17 marked hiking trails.
Feel Laško as a green outdoor home. Sort your waste and when hiking, take your trash with you back to the valley.
You can drink clean drinking water all around Laško. You will find healing thermal water drinking fountains at Thermana Laško and Rimske terme.
Buy local, seasonal and fresh. The Taste Laško collective trademark offers a wide variety of food products, produce and handicraft products.
Taste the Laško cuisine at local restaurants, where you can order dishes made of beer, honey and baked cream. Treat yourself with the Laška medenka pastry, a typical destination dessert.
Visit traditional events and festivals. An experience not to miss out is the Beer and Flowers Festival, which is the largest summer festival in Slovenia, rich in cultural and ethnographic heritage. Laško offers smaller events, such as Carnival celebrations, the Zeleni Jurij procession marking the advent of spring, and St Martin’s Day celebration.

Slovenia Green

As a pilot destination, Laško received the Slovenia Green label in 2015. It is one of the most sustainable destinations in Slovenia, committed to environmentally friendly and socially responsible tourism.

Healing water

The temperature of the healing water of Laško and Rimske Toplice at the spring varies between 34 and 38°C and it contains 370 to 430mg of different dissolved minerals.

Laško beer

The recipe of the most recognisable Laško beer, the Zlatorog, has not changed in years. One of the main ingredients of this beer is the clean intact brewery water of Laško.

Bee-friendly

The destination of Laško has been awarded the title of a “bee-friendly municipality” three times and Thermana Laško was declared “the most bee-friendly company”.

Kranceljpint

Marica Lesjak with her skills in manufacturing paper flowers (kranceljpint) became the first resident of Laško to receive recognition in the field of the preservation of cultural heritage and the transfer of knowledge to younger generations.

Laško offers the KolesCE bike sharing system, where you can rent a regular or an e-bike and drive to the neighbouring towns of Rimske Toplice, Celje, Žalec or even further.

Wellness programmes and cuisine based on honey

In cooperation with local beekeepers, Thermana Laško developed wellness programmes and cuisine based on honey, which makes it a pioneer in this field.

Pavus Restaurant

Pavus Restaurant received the Michelin Plate and the House of Gastronomy title, which was awarded within the Taste Laško collective trademark, and promotes zero food waste.

Honey plants garden

The honey plants garden in the spa park is an outdoor classroom, enriched with a panel where you can find riddles and information about life and benefits of the Carniolan honey bee. It is accessible to the blind and visually impaired.

Laška medenka pastry

Laška medenka pastry, which is prepared at Thermana Laško, is made of local ingredients and is ranked in the top of the food pyramid of the Laško municipality as well as the middle layer of the food pyramid of Slovenia.

Laško beehive

In cooperation with local beekeepers, the Pivovarna Laško Union Brewery built the Laško beehive and brewed unique honey beer.
