Between Celje and Laško
Alma Karlin often took on the route between Celje and Laško on foot. She was able to show her guests, whom she took with her or invited on the train from Celje to Laško, where her small vineyard was located. After the Second World War she lived in a small house at the junction of Celje and Laško.

Pečovnik
Alma Karlin spent the last years of her life in a house in Pečovnik with her friend Thea Gamelin. Here, an exhibition showcasing her life and work is being held, with guided tours on Saturdays being particularly interesting. These tours are led by Jerneja Jezernik, an editor, translator, and expert on Alma’s works.

Svetina
“Svetina appears as a place at the end of the world, nestled at the intersection of two hills, so that all you see behind it is the sky. Svetina completely encapsulates the landscape. The dark grey church dates from the 15th century and is one of the oldest for miles around,” Alma wrote in her travel journal. It was her wish to be buried at Svetina.
