At the Rimske terme park, the history of two nations intertwine, the English and the Russian. You can feel the presence of the English history in the first part of the park. The path along the forest meadow is called VICTORIA’S PROMENADE. The name was given in memory of the visit by the English princess and the Prussian heir Victoria Adelaide Mary Louise who spent her vacation in Rimske Toplice in 1879. At that time, giant sequoias were brought from the botanical garden Kew Gardens in London and planted here. The Russian history is present in the second part of the park. The part of the promenade further in the forest was built by the Russian prisoners. In 1917, 47 prisoners started to build the path (mostly Russian prisoners, but also some Czechs, Slovaks and Poles). In October 1918, the 1216 meters long walking path, called the RUSSIAN PATH, was finished and it has remained in its form until today.
What is special about this park, are 14 energy points and parkland trees from all over the world, given by guests as a thanks for being cured.
