Secrets of the ancient mineat the Slapšak farm

The Slapšak Farm is set on a picturesque plateau in the village of Padež. Lead and silver were mined in its immediate vicinity from 1550 to 1850. The mine tunnels are well maintained and safe, suitable for children to visit. Visitors can admire the unique karst phenomena and the animals characteristic for them while hearing stories about former mining. The mine’s most noteworthy feature is a tunnel flooded with water that allows one to see far into its depths. After sampling the miner’s snack, visitors return from the mine to the homestead through the forest, where the farm owner introduces them to the typical tree species whose waste wood is used to make unique wooden products. This is followed by a visit to the mushroom farm and a workshop where you can buy wooden products.
