In the first half of 2025, the destination of Laško recorded encouraging results in the field of tourism. Statistical data show steady interest from both domestic and foreign guests, while the average length of stay remains high, confirming Laško’s recognition as an attractive destination for longer holidays.
Between January and June 2025, Laško recorded 36,959 tourist arrivals, which is 4% fewer than in the same period last year. The total number of overnight stays amounted to 122,920, representing a 1% decrease compared to the first half of 2024. The average length of stay was 3.3 days, which is above the Slovenian average.
The structure of guests shows a balanced share of domestic and foreign visitors. Domestic tourists generated 65,117 overnight stays (53%), while foreign tourists accounted for 57,803 overnight stays (47%). In terms of arrivals, there were 15,324 domestic guests and 21,635 foreign guests, confirming that Laško attracts a significant share of international visitors as well. Among foreign guests, Italian tourists rank first (20.7%), followed by visitors from Croatia (19.6%) and Austria (17%).
In the area of promotion and advertising, the destination of Laško achieved good results in the first half of 2025. The website www.lasko.info recorded nearly 236,000 page views and more than 17,000 users, with domestic visitors predominating (80%), while among foreign visitors Italy and Austria stand out. The greatest interest was shown in content related to events, the Beer and Flowers Festival, and experiences in Laško. Growth is also evident on social media, where the number of followers increased by 1% on Facebook and by 7% on Instagram. Through various promotional campaigns, such as Green Laško, Winter Holidays in Laško, Spring in Laško, Open Doors of Laško, and the Golden Laško Summer, the destination further strengthened its visibility and appeal as a year-round green and experiential destination.
Laško holds the prestigious Slovenia Green Platinum certificate, which confirms the destination’s commitment to sustainable development and a green future. It offers visitors a rich combination of thermal experiences, wellness services, culinary delights, cultural and sporting events, and natural attractions. Thanks to this diversity, Laško is recognized as a year-round destination that is not dependent solely on seasonal visits. Despite a slight year-on-year decline in overnight stays and arrivals, the results remain encouraging, as tourist flows continue at a high level. This provides a solid basis for the coming months and confirms that Laško remains one of Slovenia’s leading destinations, where tradition, sustainability, and hospitality come together in an unforgettable experience.
