How to ride on a pumptrack?
Describing the correct technique for riding a bicycle on a pumptrack may seem complicated, but it’s really easy – you just have to try.

Instructions on how to ride on the pumptrack properly:
• Rollow the rhythm of the track
• Tyres should be in contact with the ground at all times
• Keep your arms and legs working in synch
• Have a “light” front end and a “heavy” rear end (i.e. pumping)
• The upper body (shoulders) should be in the same plane at all times

A technique of riding a bicycle on a pumptrack:
• On the first part of the hill, i.e. on the way up, take the weight off the front of the bike and let the bike ride to the top and over the hill.
• As you move over the top of the hill, transfer your weight forward, pressing down first with your hands and then with your feet to increase the force or speed on the way down. This motion creates and maintains speed throughout the track.
• Sooner or later, you’ll come to a turn. It is important to control the entry speed into the turn, otherwise you will fly off the track. And with the right line and technique, you’ll come out of the turn with even more speed.
• Keep your eyes on the exit line of the turn, and look further ahead just before you exit. Otherwise, the turn itself is performed in a similar way to a hill, by pumping your body.
• When riding, keep your upper body still and your feet on the pedals, level with the ground. It should all be happening in the hands and lower body.
