The destination of Laško recorded an increase in tourist arrivals in the first half of 2026. Between January and June, 39,255 tourist arrivals were recorded, including 15,701 domestic (40%) and 23,554 foreign visitors (60%), along with 132,754 overnight stays. Domestic guests accounted for 64,386 overnight stays (49%), while foreign guests generated 68,368 (51%). This represents a 6.2% increase in arrivals and an 8% increase in overnight stays compared to the same period last year. The average length of stay was 3.4 days.
Among foreign visitors, the largest shares came from Croatia (25%), Austria (18%) and Italy (18%), followed by guests from Germany (7%) and Serbia (5%), confirming the importance of nearby international markets for the destination. In terms of overnight stays, January, May and February were the strongest months.
Laško also recorded growth in its digital presence. In the first half of the year, the website www.lasko.info recorded 63,690 page views and 13,559 users, with 83% domestic and 17% foreign users. Among foreign users, visitors from Italy and Austria were the most prominent, while the homepage, events and online shop attracted the most interest.
An important step in strengthening the destination’s tourism offering is the new Laško Brewery Tour, developed in cooperation between STIK Laško and Laško Union Brewery. The new product introduces visitors to Laško’s more than 200-year brewing tradition as well as modern beer production, further enriching the range of experiences available in the destination.
The first half of the year was also marked by numerous activities and initiatives that contribute to strengthening and connecting Laško’s tourism offering. These included the Pivo in cvetje Festival, the Aškerc Year, events at the Laško Cultural Centre, the Okusiti Laško Brand, Po Laških poteh guided hikes, as well as activities focused on sustainable development and connecting local providers. An important part of the wider destination story is also cooperation with other destinations within the Land of Celje, strengthened through joint promotional activities and trade fair presentations.
The Laško, Slovenia social media channels also continued to grow, with Facebook recording 1% growth and Instagram 2% growth. Through engaging content, campaigns, events and new products, the destination continues to strengthen its visibility and appeal to both domestic and international visitors.
Laško continues to build its tourism offering and promotion around its strong commitment to sustainability, recognised through the Slovenia Green Destination Platinum certification. Growing tourist numbers, a diverse range of experiences and active cooperation with local and regional partners confirm Laško’s position as a recognisable year-round destination, bringing together thermal and wellness experiences, brewing tradition, gastronomy, culture, nature and active holidays.
